Marcus Emerson | House District 59

Marcus Emerson was born in Augusta and grew up under hard times. This fueled his work ethic, driving him to work as much as he could through high school. He joined the Marines to earn the GI Bill, and it became his entire career. Marcus worked hard to give his future family security and stability. He has long prioritized consistency over chaos, and that is why he is running for House District 59.

Mainers are being taxed at an exorbitant rate. Mortgage payments, rent, energy, groceries, medications, and healthcare are all getting more and more expensive and there is no sign of it changing. Our lives need a refocus on making these above important life necessities more affordable and give the people less of a worry of shortages, and drastic overnight inflation. Marcus is running for Maine’s House of Representatives to make living a simple lifestyle sustainable again. As your state representative, Marcus will fight to get back to the basics, and keep more of your money in your pocket.

According to Rolf, it’s time for a new approach. “For too long, Augusta has tried to solve our problems by simply throwing more of our tax dollars at them and hoping for the best. I’d be honored to earn your vote this November.”

Hon. Robert Foley | House District 145

Robert Foley was born and raised in Kittery, Maine. He graduated high school from R. W. Traip Academy in 1971 and has been a resident of Wells since 1977. He is a member of St. Mary’s Church and married to Maryanne Coughlin Foley, with whom he shares two sons. Robert, an insurance agent with Cole Harrison in Kennebunk, served as a selectman in Wells from 1994 through 2012 and spent eight of those years as chair. He also has served as a State Representative and State Senator in Augusta.

“Today, as I look at what is happening in Augusta, it looks more like California than Maine,” Foley wrote. “The attempts at decriminalization of fentanyl and heroin possession, eliminating the electoral college to select the president, creating housing for non-citizens while Maine seniors and homeless Mainers have no options, and the over collection of taxes with an ever-expanding state budget, are just some of the issues the next legislature needs to address.

“Let’s bring back the Maine we all love and want to live in. Let’s make sure that Maine remains the way life should be, a place to live, work and raise a family. That goal will be the primary focus of my campaign.”
